$350,000 Gift from CNB to Finalize Phase 1 of Athletic Complex

WAXAHACHIE, TX – July 10, 2024 – Nelson University is pleased to announce a generous $350,000 donation from Citizens National Bank of Texas  (CNB) to complete Phase 1 of the University’s new Athletic Complex. This gift will support the construction of the entryway and plaza, which will also serve as the permanent home to the Lion of Judah bronze sculpture.

Citizens National Bank of Texas has been a steadfast partner of SAGU (now Nelson University) for over 35 years, serving as the primary banking institution for the University. CNB President Mark Singleton’s commitment to supporting the University has been unwavering. “We deeply appreciate Citizens National Bank for their long-standing partnership and extraordinary generosity,” said President Kermit Bridges. “Their total contributions to campus projects now amount to nearly $1 million, reflecting their deep commitment to enhancing our campus infrastructure and student experience.”

The ongoing development of the Athletic Complex marks a significant milestone for Nelson University , enhancing its facilities to support athletic excellence and campus community engagement.
