How to activate Veterans’ benefits at Nelson University
- Apply for admission to Nelson University.
- Verify eligibility and Chapter
Visit the VA Educational Benefits Website and/or call the Veteran Educational Benefit Office (888.442.4551). If you do not meet any of the below Chapters, but feel that you are eligible for VA benefits, please contact the VA for other available chapters.

Active Duty (MGIB-AD) (Chapter 30)

Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (DEA) (Chapter 35)
- Complete an application for VA Education Benefits
First time using benefits
CH 30 / CH1606 / CH 1607 – VA Form 22-1990
Used benefits at another institution
CH 30 / CH 33 / CH1606 / CH 1607 – VA Form 22-1995
- Provide a copy of VA Form DD-214 if you are a veteran.
- Provide official transcripts from previous college(s) attended.
- Submit a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility.
- Send the copy to the VA certifying official via fax: (972) 923-8147 or email [email protected] . Be sure to indicate which semester you would like our office to activate your benefits.
